George A. Speckert was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and is Barbara's great-grandson. At age 7 his grandfather, Wendell, bought him an accordion. As of then visiting the grandparents usually ended with a session of accordion-playing.

Years later and due to this musical influence George Speckert studied music and became a Music Educator. Today he composes and teaches music and media on a college level.
